2014 Wales Open Picks

The PGA tour season may be over, but the European Tour is still running. This week the Tour stops at the iconic Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, Wales to play the Wales Open (formally the ISPS Handa Wales Open). This was the sight of Europe's victory over the US in the 2010 Ryder Cup, which is incidentally being played next week. The tournament will be played on Celtic Manor's Twenty-Ten course (par 71/7,352 yards).

The tournament will feature some of the European Tour's finest players, including Ryder Cup teammates Lee Westwood, Thomas Bjorn, Jamie Donaldson and Stephen Gallacher, Paul Casey (who won last week's KLM Open in The Netherlands), among others. Hopefully the decision to play the week before pays off for Gallacher, Bjorn, Donaldson and Westwood.

As for our picks, here is who we think will win the tournament this week:

3) Peter Lawrie
