The 2014 Wyndham Championship has just begun at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina. Originally known as the Greater Greensboro Open, this tournament is one of the older ones on the PGA Tour. It was was first played in 1938 where Sam Snead won it.
Sedgefield Country Club is a Donald Ross designed course; the only one of his courses that hosts a regular PGA Tour event. It measures at 7,130 yards and a par 70. Last year's winner was Patrick Reed.
This tournament is the last regular PGA Tour event of the season and precedes the FedEx Cup Playoff events (The first, The Barclays, starts next week). It's been known as a tournament that many players play in order to get some last minute FedEx Cup points in before the playoffs.
Here are our picks on who we think is going to win this year,
1) Webb Simpson
2) Bill Haas
3) Martin Laird
Canadian favourite of ours Mike Weir is also in the field, so we'll be keeping an eye on him as well. Stay tuned for our weekend update of the 2014 Wyndam Championship.
